A few months back Lakme came up with their version of Lip Crayons which they introduced in the market at an affordable price range of INR 185. Out of the 10 shades available in the complete collection, 2 shades belong to the red family. One being Berry Red (01) and the other is called Red Stop (02). The product that I’ll be reviewing today is ‘Lakme Enrich Lip Crayon in Berry Red’.

My take on Lakme Enrich Lip Crayon in Berry Red:

Packaging: Lakme Lip Crayons looks exactly like the chubby crayons that kids use for coloring. They have a black lid which is quite sturdy and a colored sticker over the actual crayon. The sticker is the same colored as the crayon and it contains the name and number of the shade too.

Color and Pigmentation: Berry Red is one of the darkest colors of the complete collection. As named, Berry Red is a deep toned red which can complement Indian skin tones pretty well. The color is decently pigmented and one swipe imparts a good amount of color. But I personally like to use 2 coats of the color to make it look even brighter.

Texture: The color is soft and easy to apply, but for me, it feels drying if applied without a lip balm underneath. If you have dry chapped lips, the color may settle into fine lines and look gross.

Staying Power: Berry Red is a bright color, stays better than some of the lighter shades from the collection. It does not exactly stain the lips, but the color tends to get into the fine lines which give the appearance of stained lips. The color cannot stand a full meal which makes it fade drastically, but light meals do not affect the color much.

Overall thoughts:

The shade Berry Red is much better than many other shades in the collection. Though I won’t say that I love it to the core, or this is the best red I have in my collection, but I have been reaching for it since I bought it.
