A friend of mine recently got me some lip balms from the US. And I, like a typical 5-year-old with stars in my eyes and “forced, deliberately contrived” hesitation leaped on to them with a speed that would put most F1 racers to shame. Among all those balms, Chapstick grabbed my eyeballs. So, no points for guessing, today I’d be reviewing the classic strawberry flavored Chapstick.

My views on Chapstick classic strawberry lip balm:
This lip balm comes in a small, plastic tube, the bottom of which has to be rotated to bring up the main lip balm. This makes it hygienic (as compared to lip balms that come in tubs). Hence, is handy to carry.
It has a smooth consistency, which might feel like butter as you glide it on your lips. The color is naturally pink and looks very eye pleasing. However, it leaves nothing on your lips i.e. it just looks coloured but in reality is tint-less when worn. The aroma is like that of a typical bubblegum.
You know you are going to evaluate a lip balm strictly when you’ve laid your hands (& subjected to your lips) to almost all high-end as well as dirt-cheap lip balms. Also, when it has been touted to be America’s most favorite lip balm, the evaluation tends to be even stricter. This lip balm truly deserves to be called one in a league of its own.
From the texture to the finish, shine to softness, moisturization to travel-friendliness, Chapstick scores a perfect 5/5. I used it only once and I am hooked to it. Dry lips, normal lips or well-moisturized lips… whatsoever kind of lips you have, you should try it once.
Now coming to the other features of this lip balm, I would say this balm is tasteless, possesses a long staying ability and leaves no tint which for people like me (I am fond of non-tinted lip balms) is a good point. The icing on the cake is that it has SPF, so, the next time you step out in sun don’t fret. Apply a liberal amount of it on your luscious lips and flaunt smooth lips.
All in all, this is my Holy Grail lip balm and will be stashed in my closet for long.
Pros:
- Price is budget-friendly
- Tube packaging. So, it is travel-friendly
- Smooth texture
- Decent moisturization
- Fine staying power
- Available easily online (Although finding it in stores in a tad difficult)
- Non-tinted. May suit men too
- Sweet bubble-gum like fragrance
- Looks cute
Cons:
There is no limitation or flaw that I could find in this lip balm. It’s something I would purchase over and over again. In fact, I am glad it has more flavours.
My rating: 5/5
Final word:
Go grab it. It should be in your beauty kit. For those looking forward to a tinted lip balm, skipping it would be a better idea since it leaves no colour on lips.
