Flormar waterproof lip liner in shade no. 229

Hey Girls,

Applying lip liners is an important step for making the lipstick stay in place for a long time, but somehow I always skip this step and this was the reason that I just had 2-3 lip liners only 1 of which was brought by me. But recently I brought 2 more lip lines during my visit to Dubai. Both the liners are from the brand Flormar and the one that I will be reviewing today is shade No. 229. These lip liners are available in 10 different colors.

Price:  18 AED i.e. approximately 315 Indian Rupees

Packaging: As lip liners from other brand come, this too comes in a simple pencil looking form with a colored lid. The pencil is pearly white in color, and the lid resembles the actual shade of the liner. The base section of the pencil is also in the same color as the lid. This actually makes it very easy to identify the color from a big bundle of colors.

Product Description:

My take on the product:

Color and Pigmentation: Shade No. 229 is a pink toned neutral. Recently I have been into neutral, as they are great for daily wear, but brown toned neutrals wash me off, thus I like to go for more pink toned neutrals. Shade No. 229 is a beautiful neutral color that can either be used on its own or can be used under a large variety of lip colors. This color nicely matches the natural lip color of my lips. The color is decently pigmented, 2 swipes are enough to get an opaque color.

Texture: The pencil is easy to apply, but like majority of the other lip pencils, this one is a little drying too. Especially in winters, I need moisturized lips in order to be comfortable with this pencil. The problem can also be solved by applying a moisturizing lipstick or lip gloss on top of this, but if you want to use this alone as an all over lip color, then you might need a moisturized lip to work with. If used alone, this accentuates the lines on the lips and thus I personally prefer to use this with a gloss on top.

Staying Power: The Company claims that this is a waterproof liner which made me assume that it will stay longer, but unfortunately the staying power was not as good as I expected. The color does stay for a good 3-4 hours but only in the outer section of the lips. But if you apply this to fill in the lips, the color in the inner parts of the lips washes away. The color can stand light snacks and few glasses of water, but it cannot stand a full big meal.

Overall I would say that this product is good as a lip liner, but is not so good for filling the lips completely. Its decent color selection and affordable price makes it a product worth trying.

Cons:

• Might be little drying especially if you have dry lips
• Not exactly waterproof (as claimed by the company)

Would I buy this product again?

Yes! Thought it’s not exactly waterproof, but I still liked it and so I will buy it again.

Do I recommend this?

Yes!
