Kylie Cosmetics Posie K Lip Kit: Review and Swatches

Whenever a celebrity comes with their own makeup line, makeup community goes crazy and all you could find on the internet is their products reviewed and swatched. Few months back I too got into the trap of watching reviews about Kylie Cosmetics products and the majority of the people were loving them. I too wanted to try some but I wasn’t very sure about ordering them from Instagram sellers and I certainly didn’t want to get them from Flipkart. After a lot of thinking, I finally made an order with Kylie cosmetics official website. I have hauled and reviewed the website earlier. I was so in love with the products that last month I order some more products. Today’s post would be about ‘Kylie Cosmetics Posie K Lip Kit’ that I ordered in my first Kylie Cosmetics order.

Though I did not get the actual lip kit, but, I have both, the lip liner and the liquid lipstick. When I made my order I got some products free and Posie K lip liner was one of them. The brand does not sell lip liners separately, but as they were under an offer I got a chance to select few of them.

Yes, the lip kits are kind of pricey as compared to just the liquid lipstick, but in the kits, you get a liquid lipstick with a matching lip liner and trust me a matching lip liner does make a lot of difference.

Packaging:

I don’t have the packaging of this particular one, but I did order some other lip kits. The lip kits come in a beautiful rectangular shaped cardboard box with colored lips with drooping lipstick made on it. The shade of the product is represented on the box (on the lips, to be exact) and on the side edges of the box.

The actual liquid lipstick has regular packaging with a transparent body and doe foot applicator. It has a black screw on lid. The drop detail makes the packaging looks beautiful.

My Experience with Kylie Cosmetics Posie K Lip Kit:

Color: Posie K is a cool mid-tone berry shade as described on the Kylie Cosmetics official website. It is the perfect shade of berry which is super easy to flaunt in whatever occasion you want. As the lip color is free of any sparkle particles and is subtle, it is good for daily office use too. It is a kind of shade that I love to wear with dark eye makeup (as nude lipsticks do not always suit my skin tone).

Pigmentation: The color Posie K is nicely pigmented. A single swipe of product makes the lips completely opaque. A second coat may be applied but it won’t intensify the color. The lip liner itself can also be used as lipstick along with a gloss on top (if you don’t want to use both the products together), but the lip liner is a titbit darker than the liquid lipstick.

Texture: The product feels light on the lips and it is not super drying. It might feel little drying due to its matte finish but if applied on moisturized lips, it does not feel uneasy. Though I won’t recommend applying this on chapped lips as it may accentuate them even more. The matching lip liner helps to give it a perfect smooth outline.

Staying Power: Being a matte liquid lipstick, it is expected to stay for a long time, and it does fulfill all the expectations. The lipstick itself has a staying power of 6-7 hours after which it might start to fade from the inner corners. But if used along with the lip liner all over the lips, it stays for even longer. I have worn this color for more than 7 hours with all the oily Indian food and snacks, but nothing happened to the lipstick. Even the oily food did not do much damage to the staying power. And yes the lipstick is completly, transfer proof too!

Fragrance: The product does have a fragrance to it, not strong enough to bother my nose, but for people who do not like fragrance in their products, this might be a con.

Final Verdict:

I won’t be exaggerating if I would say that I am in love with this product. For me, it is a kind of shade that I can use every day or I can flaunt in a party too. The staying power, the color, the pigmentation, the way it feels on my lips, everything about this product is just perfect. It’s just been little over 1 month and I have used this product several times. I have even sharpened the lip pencil.

Pros of Kylie Cosmetics Posie K Lip Kit:

• Beautiful everyday color (It has become one of my go-to colors)
• I love the simple and classy packaging
• The lip liner is non-retractable which causes little wastage of product while sharpening, but unlike some other lip liners, it is pretty easy to sharp and sturdy too.
• The lip kit has a completely matching lip liner and liquid lipstick which work amazingly together, not only in giving beautiful lips, but also to increase the staying power of the lipstick.
• Amazing staying power
• The formula does not feel heavy or dry on lips
• Non-transferable
• Nicely pigmented, one single swipe and you are good to go.

Cons of Kylie Cosmetics Posie K Lip Kit:

• Not very easy to find an Authentic product in India (Though it can be ordered online from the official website, not everyone wishes to do that).
• The fragrance may bother sensitive noses.
• Little pricey

Lots of similar products are available on the Indian websites some of which claim them to be original, but the prices of those are surprisingly low. In order to check the differences between the original one and the ones available online in India, I have bought Posie K lip kit from Flipkart for as low as 400 bucks. I soon will be writing about that lip kit too comparing it with the original product.
