Lakme Absolute Argan Oil Lip Color: Silky Blush (11)

Lakme Absolute Argan Oil Lip Color: Silky Blush, Review and Swatches

A couple of months back, I swatched the full collection of newly launched Lakme’s Argon oil lipsticks Today I’ll be reviewing one of the shades from the collection. It’s been more than 2 months and Lakme has already launched a few more collections. I have never been a big Lakme fan but the packaging of these argon oil lipsticks made me buy them and I must admit that this time, I am pretty impressed with the formulation. Tough, the color selection of these Argon oil lipsticks is just average, I loved the formula. Getting back to today’s review, the shade I have today is Lakme Absolute Argon Oil Lipcolor Silky Blush.

Ingredients: Not mentioned anywhere, neither on the official Lakme website nor on the packaging except for the fact that it contains Argan Oil.

Product Description:

Infused with actual Moroccan argan oil, this lip color has the ultimate power to nourish your lips along with intense pigment. It has a creamy texture that delivers a smooth and silky finish. Available in 15 vibrant shades, the entire palette is suitable for Indian skin tones.

My take on the product:

Packaging: Lakme Argon Oil lipsticks come in a cylindrical golden color packaging which looks beautiful. But, as all the lipsticks in the collection have the same packaging, selecting the desired color from a bunch of these is a task. This is especially true as the names and numbers that are mentioned on the bottom of the lipstick are too small to read comfortably. The lipstick closes with a click sound, which makes me comfortable to take it with me while traveling.

Colour and Pigmentation: Silky Blush is a beautiful soft pink colored lipstick, which is perfect for everyday use. The color is beautiful but is too light to show if you have pigmented lips. My lips are decently pigmented and so it takes 2-3 swipes to make the color visible on me. To make it look better, covering lips with a light layer of foundation and hence canceling the base color of the lips works well. Now, as the formula contains Argon oil, Silky Blush is very soft and smooth to apply. It actually gives a sheer coverage and lots of moisturization.

Staying Power: Being a moisturizing and sheer coverage lip color, don’t expect much as far as the staying power is concerned. The color does look pretty, but it can’t stand even snacks. Also as the color is very light it does not leave any kind of tint on the lips. All you get after a meal or even a few snacks is a soft looking healthy lips.

Overall for me, it was an average product. The shade is really pretty and good for someone who loves to wear lipstick but is afraid to try bolder shades. But for me, it is a little pricey.

Pros:

  1. Beautiful color
  2. Extremely soft and moisturizing
  3. Does not accentuate fine lines
  4. Glides on smoothly
  5. Easy to travel with

Cons:

  • Not so good staying power
  • Difficult to recognize color due to all gold packaging and extremely small font size

Would I buy this product again?

I am not a fan of sheer coverage, yes I do like the color but it would take me ages to finish this one and I do already have many other lipsticks which are similar to these, so I won’t buy it again.

Do I recommend this?

If you like to have a natural looking soft beautiful and moisturized lips then this one is for you. But I would suggest getting this on discount (if you can).

Rating: 3.5/5
