Packaging:
These Liquid Lipsticks from Lakme are in the affordable price range and hence the packaging of these lipsticks is not very fancy too. But, the packaging is kind of practical and travel-friendly. Lakme Forever Matte Lipsticks come is a sleek long tube with a screw-on lid and a doe foot applicator. The details about the lipstick are mentioned on the tube itself. Shade name and number are mentioned on a small sticker pasted on the base of the lipstick tube. The sleek packaging of the lipstick makes it very easy to carry even in the smallest of bags.
My Experience with Lakme Forever Matte Liquid Lip Color Red Carpet:
The shade Red Carpet is a muted red sort of a color that is super easy to carry on an everyday basis. Though it is red, the shade and the pigmentation is such that it does not look too bright on the lips. The application of the color is not too smooth and it does take a while to apply the shade properly and give the lips an even finish. As it is a red shade, it can be a little tricky to apply the shade perfectly and some patience is required to get the desired look.
Luckily, once the lipstick is applied, it becomes budge-proof. The formula is completely transfer-proof and does not feel heavy on the lips. It does take a couple of minutes to dry though and until then, it is not fully transfer-proof. I would suggest applying a lip liner with this particular shade to give a precise and polished look to the lips.
Now, as the lipstick is budge-proof, it’s staying power is good too. The color can stay on the lips easily for 5-6 hours with a couple of cups of coffee and even a light meal. A heavy oily meal can destroy the intensity of the color, but it still does not goes off completely and give a flushed look to the lips.
Overall Thoughts:
To be honest, I didn’t have many expectations from this lipstick as I personally never had an amazing experience with any formula from the brand, but I was excited to try these due to the affordable range. I won’t say that I am super happy to try the formula, but for the price range, the formula is actually not so bad. Though I liked the Maybelline Liquid Lipsticks more as compared to this one, but for the price range and the available color options, this is a good lipstick.
