Hello Girls,
Few days back Lakme launched some new lip balms which lakme calls as Lip Love Care. These lip balm were launched recently and are available in 4 different variants. When I saw these products online, I instantly ordered 2 of the available variants (Strawberry and Cherry) which I assumed to be most pigmented. But unfortunately Strawberry came out to be the one with almost no pigmentation. I had high hopes for Cherry, which luckily is different from Strawberry as far as the pigmentation is concerned.
Price: INR 200 for 3.8 g
Packaging:
These lip balms comes in a plastic packaging with a colored base and transparent lid. The whole packaging makes the product look really adorable. The lip balms have a colored stick with a moisturizing transparent core. The product is actually very similar to the lipsticks from Elle 18 which too has a colored stick with a transparent core. The packaging is sturdy and travel friendly too, but as the whole product is made of average quality plastic they are vulnerable to cracks, especially not treated properly.
Ingredients:
Not mentioned on the packaging or on the site.

Luxurious creamy core moisturizes your lips

- SPF 15 protection
- Easy glide
- Everyday casual essential
My take on the product:
The company gives this product a tag line of ‘A LITTLE TINT with LOTS OF CARE’ which actually goes well with the shade Cherry. Cherry has a little moisturizing core in the interior which helps in providing care to the lip. The SPF 15 present in the product also helps in providing care to the lips. The outer stick of Cherry is red colored which is not so pigmented, but unlike its other variant Strawberry, Cherry does provide a little tint of red color to the lips. For pigmented lips, at least 3-4 coats are required for making the color show on the lips, but the effect of balm together with the little red tint makes the product look really natural on the lips.
The product is infused with fruity fragrance which is actually similar to Cherry (the name given to the variant). The fragrance does not stay for long, but the moisturization provided by the lip balm remains for hours. I have a habit of using lip balm underneath my lipsticks, but this product is not meant for that purpose. It is little thick in consistency which makes my lip color to collect in the interior of the lips. This product is best to be used on its own. It is a kind of product that can be used on lazy days, when I don’t feels like going for too much makeup.
Pros:
- Pretty packaging
- Moisturizing (but does not stand upto the claims regarding the hours of moisturization)
- Does have a red tint, which makes it better than the other variants available
- Good for everyday use
- Has SPF 15
Cons:
- A little pricy for a lip balm
- No ingredient list
Would I buy this product again?
No! I have already brought 2 of the 4 available variants, and I would not like to buy more.
Do I recommend this?
Yes! As far as I can judge, Cherry is the most pigmented color out of the 4 variants, so if you want to try these lip balms, cherry is the best option.
