Lotus herbals floral stay Lipstick in Truffle Story (423)

Hey Girls,

Lately I have been a lipstick addict  and have started buying more and more lipsticks, but the one I have today is one of the lipsticks from my mom’s collection. The one I will be talking about today is a lipstick from Lotus Herbals and the collection is called floral stay. There are 10 shades in this range and the one I have is called truffle story. I got this lipstick for my mother around a year back and my mother loves it due to the dark color.

Packaging:

I was confused about the fact that why it is called floral stay but when I saw the packaging I understood why the word floral has been used. The lipstick comes in a sleek rectangular shaped packaging which is pink in color. The lipstick is decorated with flower like print on it with golden color. So when one sees the lipstick, the first word that can strike the mind is floral 🙂

Ingredients:

Enriched with the botanical extracts of Aloe Vera and Avocado.

These are the only ingredients mentioned on the site and I am not sure about the packaging as I have thrown the outer box and presently I only have the lipstick which does not have anything written on it except Lotus Herbals.

My take on the product:

Truffle story is a very dark shade of brown and so my main reason of buying it was for my mother as she likes such dark shades. When after getting it, when I saw my mum using it and liking it I thought of trying it myself. I like the color. Although it’s a little dark for me, but I still like itJ. The color is highly pigmented; one swipe and you are done. The lipstick is not very creamy to apply but it definitely does not dry my lips. I sometimes use a little balm beneath this to make it apply smoothly. But applying lip balm reduces its staying power (obviously), so I like to use it without a balm and once applied directly on lips it stays for a super long time. For me it stayed even after I had my dinner. The color wasn’t as clear as it was before diner, it did fade a little but the color was there. I also like the finish of the lipstick. It’s neither completely matte nor actually glossy. It’s something between them. Another plus point of the lipstick is that it contains SPF 10, which is rare to find in lipsticks.

Now coming to the negative points, I liked the packaging with floral pattern, it’s cute, but I would have preferred something with a transparent top. With a complete opaque lid it really becomes difficult to select the color of choice and sometimes a good amount of time is wasted in searching for the desired color. Also I would like to mention that it comes only in 10 shades. I would have loved it even more if I would have had some more color options. Only 10 shades is not enough for a lipstick……

Pros:

• Affordable
• Highly pigmented
• Stays for a very long time, even after meals
• Does not dry your lips
• It contains SPF 10, that means, amazing lips which are protected from sun J
• Cute packaging
• Neither completely matte nor glossy
• 100% vegetarian

Cons:

• Not very creamy to apply
• Limited number of shades
• All the lipsticks have same packaging, which makes it really difficult to select the color from a bunch of different lipsticks.

Would I buy this product again?

Not now, but if the company launches some more colors I would love to try them

Do I recommend this?

A 3.4 g lipstick is not bad for INR 375, so if you like a shade from the limited color range, they can be tried.
