LYN Nail Lacquer Black Current Bombshell: Review and Swatches

After trying 4 different polish colors from the brand LYN now I can say that through all the polishes from the brand have different consistencies, some better than the others, but they all have something unique to them, some have great formula while some have amazing pigmentation and some others have a beautiful shine. The color that I will be reviewing today has an exceptional shine to it and the product I have today is called ‘LYN Nail Lacquer Black Current Bombshell’. I have already reviewed Orchid Be with U 4ever, Don’t brick my heart and Keen on this Green from this range.

Packaging:

The polish like all the other LYN polishes comes in a rectangular shaped glass bottle which has a top wide enough to make the color visible even from the top. This allows the polishes to be stored even inside a drawer. The applicator attached to the cap of the polish is an average sized brush which is neither too wide nor too thin. The brush allows covering the nail in around 2-3 strokes.

My take on LYN Nail Lacquer Black Current Bombshell:

When I heard the name Black Current Bombshell the first thing that came to my mind was black current ice-creams which made me thought that the current must be a shade of purple. Though black current flavored ice-creams are much lighter than the color of this polish, but still the name of the color signifies the family it belongs to.

The first thing I noticed about this color is the shine it has, the color might seem to be just like any other purple in the bottle, but when applied to the nails, it gives a different kind of shine to the nails, something similar that would have been obtained with a shiny top coat. The color requires 2 coats to get completely opaque on the nails and give that beautiful shine. Though it can work well with a single coat too, but a single coat can be a little streaky and does not have that extraordinary shine to it.

Consistency wise, this particular color is just like any other good polish. It is neither too thick, not too flowy, but is just perfect for an easy application. The staying power of this color is same as all the other variants from the brand, which is around 4-5 days. In the duration of these 4-5 days, the color does not chip at all. The staying power can further be increased by using a good top coat. The color might fade a bit from the top sections of the nails, but this happens only if your nails are frequently in contact with water.

Other information:

The biggest plus point about these polishes is that they allow water and air to penetrate through them which makes them suitable to use for ladies of all religions. Also, air penetrations mean that the nails would remain protected and will not get yellow stains due to the polish. Unfortunately, the shade Don’t brick my heart from this line, did stain my nails yellow, but black current bombshell does not stain nails.
