MAYBELLINE COLOR SHOW NAIL POLISH: WINE & DINE REVIEW AND NOTD

Nail Polishes are amongst the first items that I started collecting. I always loved to have long nails and since I was in class 11th I had long nails. This was the main reason that I started collecting nail polishes. Over the past many years my collection had grown enormously and now I have almost completed my century of nail polishes J. Today I will be reviewing one of the affordable polishes from my collection. The polish is from Maybelline’s Color Show line and the shade I have today is called Wine & Dine.

Packaging: The polish comes in a small cylindrical bottle with a black colored cap. The brush attached to the cap has wide bristles which help to apply the color easily without much effort.

Color: Wine and Dine is a beautiful deep wine colored polish with numerous amounts of pink and gold colored minute shimmer particles. The shimmer particles are so small that they are almost invisible until observed very carefully. The color is pretty but it looks even prettier on hands and is perfect for a dinner date.

Pigmentation: The color is averagely pigmented. A single coat of polish does not impart a good color; in fact the color looks extremely bad and streaky in the first coat. The situation improves in the second coat, but the color that is visible in the bottle can be seen only after 3-4 coats.

Texture: Thankfully the color has very thin consistency which actually helps in applying 3-4 coats without being too heavy for the nails. The polish has a glossy texture which makes it look even prettier. The company claims this to be a chip resistant formulation which is true at least for 3-4 days, after which the color might start to chip. The color does not chip or fades majorly for 3 days, but yes some little fading might be seen near the top edge of the nail.

Drying time: This is one of the major plus point, at least for this color as this color need 3-4 coats and if the drying time would have been high then applying 4 coats would have taken ages. The color dries in about half a minute which makes reapplication easy.

Staying Power: The color stays well for 3-4 days, but in the situation where the hands come into contact with water very often, the color might start fading earlier. Large number of coats helps the color to stay a little longer on the nails.
