Hello Beautiful ladies,
Today I will be writing something different than my usual articles. As must be clear from the heading, today I will be reviewing the movie Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! I usually have a half day on Saturday and so I planned to see the movie today, but while I was about to leave the office my boss gave me some urgent work due to which I got late by almost 1 hour. But thankfully the theatre was near to my place and I was able to reach just in time for the movie. I was excited about the movie as I knew that this was going to be a suspense detective movie and I heard the name of the famous detective in the past and also I am a fan of Sushant Singh Rajput, so everything about the movie was attracting me. I knew that Detective Byomkesh Bakshy was a famous detective but I didn’t know that he was only a fictional character created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay.
Now coming to the actual review part of the movie, the film is set in the Second World War situation in Calcutta during the 1940s and revolves around Byomkesh Bakshy, who gets his first case in the form of a genius chemist Bhuban Banerjee, who has suddenly gone missing.
His search for the missing man gets him into various murder mysteries which he tries to solve. The murders however, lead Byomkesh into a more complicated series of affairs. The events in the movie were not exactly as everyone may expect but at a certain point you can identify who the main criminal is. But what you won’t be able to guess is the actual story that is behind all the murders.
The movie seems to be a bit slow toward the middle part, but still there is not even a single point where you will lose your interest in the movie. I personally am a huge fan of detective/ suspense stories and so I loved the movie. I liked the way the detective and even the negative character play with every one’s brain in the movie.
Though the movie has been liked by both the critics and the audiences, but unfortunately wasn’t able to do great business at the box office. In the first 3 days the film earned around 14.06 crores after which the collection failed to pick up.
Being a suspense movie, it is a one time watch, but if you too are a fan of such kind of movies then this is a must watch for you
