Let’s have a look into the swatches:
First Impression on Maybelline Liquid Matte Lipsticks:
The first thing that attracted me towards these lipsticks is, of course, their price point. 349 bucks for a liquid lipstick is not a bad deal. A couple of days before these were launched, Lakme too introduced their new formula of liquid lipsticks that are price just Rs 295. I really want to try those too but as they are so affordable, most of the shades are out of stock on Nykaa.
Now, coming back to Maybelline’s liquid lipstick, the formula is soft and easy to apply. A single coat might not be good enough for deep pigmentation, but if you like lightly flushed lips then a single coat is what you need. For someone like me, who prefer more opaque lips, 2-3 swipes are required. The lipsticks are completely matte and slightly sticky, but they seem to have superb staying power. I haven’t used any shade long enough on my lips, but after swatching the colors on my arms and lips, it became a hassle for me to remove them, even with a makeup remover.
Consistency wise, not all the colors are the same, some glides smoothly and feels good while some others are slightly patchy. For now, I can say that I am happy with the quality that Maybelline is providing at such a good price point.
A detailed review of each of the shades would be up on the blog soon!
