Nykaa Creamy Matte Lipstick Pep Talk, Review

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone. As it is Valentine’s day today, the day of love, I will be reviewing a pink lipstick. Though a lipstick has nothing to do with love, but for a lipstick lover like me, my lipsticks are my love, plus it is pink! Today’s review would be about Nykaa creamy matte Lipstick Pep Talk, a new lipstick launched by Nykaa Cosmetics.

Packaging:

Packing is one of the many things that I love about these lipsticks. These bullet lipsticks come packaged in a colored plastic container reflecting the actual shade of the product. The lid of the lipstick has black stripes which make it look a little less monotonous. The packaging is sturdy and travel-friendly. The lipstick shuts with a click. There is nothing mentioned on the actual lipstick apart from the brand’s name and the name of the lipstick which is pasted at the bottom of the lipstick. The lipstick does not come in a box, but as it is only priced at Rs 299, a box is not even expected.

My Experience with Nykaa creamy matte Lipstick Pep Talk:

The shade Pep Talk is described as a bright pink by Nykaa and although it is bright pink it is easy to wear everyday pink shade. These lipsticks are regular bullet lipsticks and are completely free of shimmers or any kind of shine. The lipstick is not crazily pigmented but the pigmentation is good enough to make the color completely opaque in a couple of swipes.

The lipsticks are from the Creamy Matte range, but I found the formula to be creamier than matte. The formula is not super creamy but is comfortable enough, and it is certainly not completely matte too. It is something that can easily be worn for a full day of work with easy touchups and without feeling dry or heavy.

As it is a bullet lipstick, the staying power is not amazing. Without a meal, the color can stay up to 2-3 hours without fading, but as the color transfers with meals or water or coffee, the staying power keeps on reducing. The color might now stay for 5-6 hours, but it is easy to reapply and it fades evenly from the lips without looking patchy or dry.

Overall Thoughts:

I am really impressed by the fact that Nykaa came out with such a product. Nykaa cosmetics have some amazing lip products but launching a regular bullet lipstick that too at such an affordable price range was an amazing decision. These lipsticks are perfect for anyone who doesn’t like liquid lipsticks or anyone who is on a budget. The color selection makes it possible for everyone to find at least one shade of their choice. The formula is also amazing and perfect for everyday use.
