Nykaa Demi Matte Lipstick Lit, Review

I have used and reviewed Nykaa’s liquid lipsticks and I have loved most of them. Today’s review would be about Nykaa Demi Matte Lipstick Lit, which is Nykaa’s demi-matte formula in Red shade. The actual name od the product is a little long and they are actually called, Nykaa Get Set Matte! Demi Matte Lip Cream Lipstick. But, for the ease, I call them Demi Matte Lipsticks.

Before starting to write about my experience with this particular formula, I must admit that I haven’t tried any demi-matte formula before this and I was not too sure about how they should work or feel. But by the terms, demi-matte, and lip-cream, I was expecting a not so matte looking extremely creamy lip formula which is good for everyday use.

Packaging:

The outer box packaging of the lipstick is stunning. The lipstick comes in a dual-colored box, black and red (in the case of the shade lit, which is a red lipstick). The outer box contains all the information about the lipstick as well as the shade name and number. The actual lipstick is also dual colored. The lid and the upper half of the lipstick are black whereas the lower half of the tube is transparent, reflecting the color of the product inside the tube. The black and the transparent sections merge together giving an ombre look to the packaging.

The applicator provided with the lipstick is different from Nykaa’s liquid lipsticks. The one provided with the demi-matte lipstick has a small hole in between it for better product collection. This helps to gather a sufficient amount of product that is required for a single application.

My Experience with Nykaa Demi Matte Lipstick Lit:

As I have already mentioned, the shade Lit is a Red-colored lipstick. It is a true bright red color that will look good on a number of skin tones. The pigmentation of the color is also amazing, a single swipe is all you need for an opaque finish.

As it is a demi-matte formula, it is not completely matte, it does not dry matte. It is instead a glossy looking super creamy texture that feels like butter. The finish and the texture look absolutely beautiful on the lips, but due to its creamy texture, it is not transfer-proof and not long staying. I would actually advise using a lip liner with this formula else a meal can ruin your look in the most unpleasant way. The first time I applied this lipstick, I did not use a lip liner and after a meal, the color was all over the place. It very finely melted outside my lip lines, giving me a shabby look.

Overall Thoughts:

Overall, I actually kind of like the product. Though it is not long staying, but I do have many products in my collection which have a great staying power. I do not have anything like this in my collection and this is the reason I like this product. The price range is also pretty affordable.

If you are not into glosses but want to try something different than a regular liquid lipstick, then you can certainly give Nykaa’s Demi matte collection a try.
