Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel: Surf Spray Review and NOTD

Today I will be reviewing one of my recent purchases. Few days back there was a huge sale on Nykaa and I ordered some stuff. One of the things that I had my eyes on was Revlon’s scented nail polishes. I had one of the scented polished from Revlon but it was gifted to me by my Aunt who lives in USA. The packaging of the one’s that are available in India was a little different and I really wanted to try that. There were many color options but as I was trying it for the first time I decided to get only 2. The colors I brought were Surf Spray and African Tea Rose. The color that I will be reviewing today is Surf Rose.

My take on the product:

Packaging: I am a sucker for good packaging and this is what attracted me towards these. These polishes come in a little square bottle with a round cap. Its round cap is something that cannot be seen in any other nail polish. It makes the bottle look adorable. The cp has a brush attached to it which is neither too thick now too thin. It is perfect for applying color onto the nails. The thickness of the brush is such that it takes 2 swipes of the brush to fill in the complete nail.

Color: Surf Spray, as the name might suggest is a beautiful color of turquoise. The small blue colored shimmer particles present in the polish makes it looks fantastic on the nails. The color looks beautiful on majority of the skin colors. It is a color that is different from the usual colors that we apply on daily basis but still is not too bold and can be worn to office too.

Pigmentation: Unfortunately the color is not very opaque which makes it important to apply 3-4 coats of the color to make it opaque and bright colored. This can be a positive point for those who do not like to apply very bright colors; they can easily wear 1-2 coats of the color and can be good to go. Basically the pigmentation of the color is buildable.

Texture: The polish is liquidy in texture which actually makes it little easy to apply. The brush does not leave any stoke makes on the nails. The polish is pretty fast drying too. It just takes few seconds for the color to dry.

Staying Power: The staying power of the color is average; it stays well upto 2 days after which it starts to fade from the top edges of the nails. The color does not chip but if applied for more than 2 days it might start to fade from the middle parts of the nails too.

Fragrance: Now coming to the point that attracted me to buy this after its packaging and that is the scented color claim by the company. Yes, the color is scented, it has a very strong sweet fragrance to it especially for the first few hours of application. But the fragrance fades as the time passes. The scent remains good for the first day, then it fades to almost half on the second day and after that there is no scent in the color. Personally I found the scent on the first day to be very strong and I didn’t like it. The scent after fading on the second day is bearable and feels good.

• A little pricy
• The strong scent might not be liked by some
• Not very opaque
• Average staying power

Would I buy this product again?

Though I did not like the scent much, but as the packaging is adorable I might buy few more shades. I liked the formula tough.

Do I recommend this?

If you love scented products then this one is for you. The claim of the company about a luxurious scent is true.
