Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer: Apocaliptic Review and Swatches

Today I will share with you all the first Apocalips from my collection and the color I have today is called apocaliptic.

Product Description:

My take on the product:

Packaging: These Lip Lacquers comes in a tube form and have a doe foot applicator. The packaging makes it look like a lipgloss but as the company says it is neither a gloss nor a lipstick, it’s bigger than both. I would put this product in the category of liquid lipsticks and if considered a liquid lipstick, it is one of the cheapest one available in the market. The applicator that comes with the product is perfectly made to pick up the right amount of color.

Color: Apocaliptic is a bright shade of pink, it almost seems to be a magenta in the bottle but comes out to be little different on the lips. The color is free of shimmers and it looks beautiful on fair skin tones. Though the color is not appropriate for everyday use or for office purpose, but it can definitely be worn during day time.

Pigmentation: One of the best parts about this product is its pigmentation, the product is highly pigmented and a single swipe makes it look completely opaque.

Texture: Apocaliptic has a glossy finish, but it still might seem a bit drying. The color is very easy to apply and glides on smoothly on to the lips. The color does not accentuates fine lines and it actually helps to make the lips seem smoother.

Staying Power: The product has a decent staying power, it can stay upto 5 hours without meals, but if small meals are taken they can hamper the intensity of the color. One thing that I didn’t like about this particular color is that it makes a weird kind of line in the inner section of my lips. I am not sure that why this happens with this particular color, but the line actually looks very unpleasing on the lips.

Fragrance: The product has some artificial kind of fragrance which luckily fades away as soon as the product is applied on the lips.

Swatches:

Pros:

• Affordable as compared to other liquid lipsticks that are available in the market
• Super pigmentation
• Beautiful color that is good for both day time and night time
• Smooth to apply
• The applicator picks up the right amount of color
• Does not accentuated the fine lines on the lips, it actually makes the lips seem smoother

Cons:

• The color loses its intensity, even with the smallest meal
• Leaves a weird line in the inner sections of my lips

Would I buy this product again?

No! Though I liked the color, and the formulation is also good, but I already have 5 if them and so I won’t buy more shades.

Do I recommend this?

Yes! If you are looking for liquid lipsticks or a product that is between a gloss and a lipstick, then this is a must try
